Important Counter-Strike Server News

If you want to play CS at Boomtown please read this latest information.

In the last few months Counter-Strike Source has grown rapidly. More and more choose our servers because of the high reliability, good ping, and safe servers. But with increased numbers, we've also seen an increase in the people who can't play by the rules. We have especially noticed foreigners who join the server and TD/TK a lot, or in general behave totally out of order.

Until now, anyone could join the servers with what ever nick they want, but in order to get rid of the people that ruin the game for the rest of us, we now introduce a new form of login.

On this page you can see 2 types of membership

- City Member - full Membership
and
- Basic member - limited Membership

Read "See all the advantages" via the previous link for more info on either type of membership

You have to pick one of the two kind of member type, in order to join Boomtown gameservers, it only takes about 2 minutes to sign up, so no excuses there..

Once you have signed up, you have to set your gaming nick. First log in with your account in centre of the screen there's a little "profile" to the right of your name. Click it.

Then to the left on the screen there's an Edit profile > Profile settings option. In here you can set your gaming nick. Basic members have one protected nickname, City members have three protected nicks.

Here is an example:

config.cfg - Here i put my name: name "@HrLarsen"
autoexec.cfg - Here I put all the changes i made in source also the password: setinfo _pass Thepassfromhomepagehere

(config.cfg and autoexec.cfg can be found in the Steam\SteamApps\your@email.net\counter-strike source\cstrike\cfg. if autoexec.cfg cant be found then just create a .txt file and rename it autoexec.cfg)

If you don't like that method, there is our Boomtown @ Home client.

More information on the Boomtown @ Home client can be found on the website, but if you give up, we are also found at irc at Quakenet - #boomtown.css or post in the forum.

When calling for an admin on the servers, remember to write: Admin + Reason + Source to the problem. It's faster for us to see what's going on, since we can see it all in txt form at irc, and better for you because problems are solved much faster.

We hope this will get rid of the people that ruin the game for the rest of us, and of course make the gaming experience more intense for the rest of us.

Hello, i have a question about the server setup on Boomtown, a couple of times when i have played on the servers i have experienced being hit by lightning and disarmed then not being able to move and another time someone ran around with a glowing circle on them. Why use a setup that does more harm then good, why not use the official server files and maps either from the CPL (cyber athleates professional league witch can be gotten from their site as a member.) if your not able to get the server files from CPL, then there is altso the Cyber athletes amateur league at this adress: http:\Caleague.com and click download , all the files are free and so are the memebership of the league, there are altso the files ,maps and all rules and things needed.
my question is , why not use it on the Boomtown servers, if your serious about having competitions and in general keeping CS, CSS running as the great games they have always been, without all the cheating and bull****
im creating this post hoping that Boomtown will do something to improve the way things work on the CSS servers and CS servers.
